Ultima Development Laboratories

27/06 :  New DNS Network

   As of today, Ultima Development Laboratories is using a new DNS network.

The reasoning behind this is that our main domain used to have to rely on s1.directadmin.ultimalabs.co.uk to serve the DNS for it and should something happen to s1.directamdin.ultimalabs.co.uk, all of Ultima Development Laboratories will go down.

In order to stop this form happen incase it does, we have moved the main domain it's own nameservers (four in fact) so that should any server go down, the rest of Ultima Development Laboratories will stay online.

Now, you shouldn't have to change anything but if you are for some reason using ns1.ultimalabs.co.uk, ns2.ultimalabs.co.uk or ns1.phoenixhosting.net, ns2.phoenixhosting.net then please change your nameservers too

ns1.hostname
ns2.hostname

Hostname means the hostname of the server you are hosted on. It will look something like this - s2.directadmin.ultimalabs.co.uk

12/03 :  Backup and your accounts

   Sadly, we live in an age where crackers now target any random sites just for the fun of it. Lately, we have heard of reports of a lot of hosts being cracked and a few clients sending e-mails to use saying that they been cracked (All turned out to be false).

This announcement is mearly to say about backups. UDL makes backups of all of our servers often and will restore the servers should they get cracked HOWEVER we will not restore one site should you get cracked regardless of how it happened.

So please, make backups often and if you ain't able to remember to make them then contact UDL support and we will explain.
